A Process for Designing Conceptual Teaching and Learning Plans

Intended Use
This process is intended as a guide for those educators who would like to develop their teaching and learning plan using a concept-based model. It assumes that you have already developed a concept-based unit. Many of the non-negotiable elements of this concept-based teaching and learning plan are based on the key components in a concept-based unit.

Organization
This process is outlined as a process of steps. Each step contains a description of the components that make for an effective concept-based teaching and learning plan as well as questions to guide your work. While a process is outlined in this document, understand that this is not a linear process. Many steps may occur simultaneously. The process is presented here as steps for coherency. This is also an iterative and variable process based on teacher preference.
